LOCATION
We are in Skerries, just 20 mins north of Dublin Airport, on the coast in a fishing village that has won many International awards for its beauty. Many guests choose us because of our easy access to the airport as opposed to staying in Dublin where traffic is gridlocked much of the time.
DESCRIPTION
The Red Bank Lodge has a history dating back to 1880 and was orignally the home of a sea captain who commanded one of the many schooners which plied their trade. At this time, before the disappearance of the sail, Skerries was a major port. When the tall ships were replaced by steamers the Lodge became a convent and school for girls and then a doctors surgery.
Terry and Margaret McCoy took it over in 1996 and the guesthouse was born. The Lodge has been a tremendous success.
Each room has individual decor, personnally choosen by Margaret and all have television, direct dial phones and modem/fax ports.
The restaurant have won many awards and citations for good food including the Egon Ronay Seafood restaurant of the Year.
Terry is a member of Eurotoques, the European body of chefs dedicated to the highest standards of excellence in food and professional cooking. He has represented Ireland extensively at International food competitions.
